Father of Ivan Ivanovich; sexton in the village Tatyanino, “apparently hereditary”; with his wife - indigenous residents of Tatyanin (memories of a great-grandson, S69 ). Middle name lost.
According to the recollections of his great-grandson: the sexton is in Tatyanin, his wife is also from there. Both died during the cholera epidemic; the children survived, the eldest was Ivan Ivanovich. The author cites the date around 1850 and the number of 7–8 children inaccurately. The version about receiving the surname at a religious school in the 1820–1830s and its origin from a nickname is the memoirist’s assumption, the unproven history of the surname ( S187 ).
