First husband of Lyudmila Petrovna (nee Zamyatina); lived in Ashgabat; divorced when their sons Dmitry and Vadim were small ( S141 ).
Born October 1, 1925 in Moscow; in 1943 he was called up by the Ashgabat RVC; in service from February 1943 to March 1948; senior lieutenant of medical service; medals “For the capture of Berlin” and “For the victory over Germany” ( S158 ). Galina Pavlovna recognized the photo in the “Memory of the People” card.
According to family stories ( S157 ): the medic “reached Berlin” and was wounded or shell-shocked (traumatic brain injury - not documented). Father - Dmitry Gerasimovich Chebanov, ENT doctor and military medic ( S162 ); both parents, doctors, died in the Ashgabat earthquake of 1948. Yuri’s birth certificate (10/1/1925, Moscow) was found in the archive by Dimitry Chebanov ( S162 ).
His sister or cousin Rimma (“Aunt Rimma” for Vadim) lived in Ashgabat ( S157 ).
Perhaps it is he - “doctor Yuri Chebanov” among the participants in the Ashgabat creative “Circle” (Scene magazine, S159 ); not proven.
The estimated date of death of both parents during the Ashgabat earthquake is October 6, 1948 ( S157 , S162 ; event date S167 ). Individual death records were not received.
Photos of the birth record were received ( S181 – S182 ): October 1, 1925, Moscow; parents Dmitry and Anna Chebanov, 34 and 27 years old. The parents' middle names are not included in the record.
Elena Melnikova suggested that the child in the family photo “Grozny, 1929” is Yuri ( S185 ). Attribution remains speculative.
