Замятин Пётр Петрович (старший)

probably great-great-grandfather of Igor’s wife (paternal grandfather of Lyudmila Petrovna)

Name variants: Zamyatin Pyotr Petrovich

Investigating magistrate. Until 1906 — assistant justice of the peace in the Elisavetpol district (now Ganja), in charge of the fifth investigative section; in April 1906 attached to the Ministry of Justice and began acting as investigating magistrate of the Elisavetpol circuit court. From 1907 — investigating magistrate for the most important cases of the Vladikavkaz circuit court: titular councillor, collegiate assessor by 1910, court councillor in 1916 (S368). In “Terskiye Vedomosti” of 1911 a murder case is passed to him.

Wife — Vera Aleksandrovna; in Vladikavkaz they had Igor (January 1910, died in 1911) and Zoya (2 May 1914) (S366, S367). Igor’s godfather was titular councillor Grigory Petrovich Zamyatin, probably Pyotr Petrovich’s brother.

Why he is probably the father of our Pyotr Petrovich: the family remembers that Lyudmila Petrovna’s father was Pyotr Petrovich and her grandmother was Vera Aleksandrovna, née Kubekova (S143, S168). Both names match here. The wife’s maiden name is not given in the registers, and the birth record of Pyotr junior has not been found: judging by the dates, he may have been born around 1905–1909, still in Elisavetpol. What became of Pyotr Petrovich senior after 1916 is unknown.
