Герасименко Римма Тимофеевна
first cousin of the wife's grandfather (Yuri Dmitrievich)
First cousin of Yuri Dmitrievich Chebanov (on which side is unknown); she lived in Ashgabat, wife of the war veteran Yuri Pavlovich; she died before Alexei Yurievich moved to the Moscow region (Dmitry Yurievich, S419). To Vadim Yurievich she was "aunt Rimma" (S157).
Gerasimenko is her married name; her maiden name is unknown (Galina Pavlovna's remark, 05.10.2026). If her father was Dmitry Gerasimovich's brother, her maiden name was Chebanova.
Possibly she is the bacteriologist R. T. Gerasimenko, a researcher of especially dangerous infections at the Turkmen anti-plague station: encyclopedia "Turkmen SSR" (1984), article "Bacteriology", p. 361, index p. 556 (S405); co-author R. T. Gerasimenko of an article on El Tor vibrios ("Zhurnal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii", 1978, No. 3, pp. 115–119; PubMed 665027). The rare full name and Turkmenistan match; these sources give no family or age.
Yura Chebanov gave her and a certain Seva his childhood photo: «To Rimma and Seva in memory from Yura» (S664). Perhaps Seva was her brother.
Her portrait from the 1950s survives in the family; Igor identified Aunt Rimma on it (S671).
The RSL catalogue has her report in English for a WHO travelling seminar on plague control — «The Turkmen plague control station: structure and work organisation» (Moscow, 1975; S732). Such reports are given by the heads of an institution, so R. T. Gerasimenko was apparently the head or deputy head of the station in Ashgabat. If this is Aunt Rimma, in the 1970s she lived and worked in Ashgabat, which agrees with Dmitry Yurievich's account (S419). A search on 18.10.2026 of the web, archive.org, PubMed, CyberLeninka and the RSL catalogue gave nothing more about her family.
