Pharmacist in Moscow: he obtained the rank of pharmacist at Moscow University in 1864. In 1869 he married Olga Andreevna Forbricher (died 1871, aged 25); the guarantor for the groom was the pharmacist Nikolai Ivanovich Degterevsky (S515). In a second marriage in 1889 he married Zinaida Ottovna Gunst; their son Ioann was born in 1891. He died on 3 August 1899, aged 60, and was buried in the Vagankovo Cemetery (S515). That he was a son of Ivan Danilovich Degtyarevsky and brother of Nikolai follows from the matching patronymic and profession and Nikolai's role as guarantor at his wedding; there is no direct document.
In the register of St Nicholas Cathedral of Novomirgorod Moisei, son of the collegiate registrar Ivan Danilovich Degtyarevsky and Olimpiada Dorofeevna, was baptised on 6 August 1840 (S516). The age matches the Moscow records (29 in 1869, 60 in 1899), so this is apparently him.
