Born on 9 August 1892 in Chernyaevka, daughter of the peasant Sergiy Melnikov and N[adezhda] Yakovleva (S690); the father’s patronymic and the mother’s first name disappear into the binding of the book, but the mother is recorded as Yakovleva, as for Matfey, Vera and Ivan (S327, S529), so she is probably their sister.
On 9 November 1912 in Chernyaevka she married, as a first marriage, Grigoriy Semenovich Prokudin, an 18-year-old peasant of the same village; her age is recorded as 19 (S691).
