A settler of Capaclia-Rezeș; in the registers of 1882–1894 — “Matvei (Mahei, Matfei) Vasilyev Kalugaryan (Kalugaryanu)”, his wife Maria Dimitrievna, both in their first marriage (S706). Dates of life unknown.
Probably the grandfather of Grigory Georgievich: his son Georgy was born on 3 January 1893 (S705) — the only Georgy Kalugaryan in the Capaclia birth registers of 1880–1901. This is an assumption; there is no document yet on Georgy's marriage or Grigory's birth.
Stefan Vasilyev Kalugaryan, probably his brother, lived in Capaclia-Rezeș in the same years. In 1899 “Aldea Matfeev Kalugaryan”, aged 20, married Alexandra, daughter of Grigory Parra; their children were Dimitry (1900), Stefan (1902) and Georgy (1 November 1904). Aldea is probably Matvei's eldest son; kinship by patronymic alone is not proven. His son Georgy (1904) is too young to be Grigory's father (1913).
