“Resident of the village of Porumbești, Izmail district, Dimitry Petrov Pleș” died on 26 February 1907 “of old age” at 90 (S712), i.e. he was born around 1817. By patronymic and place he is the probable father of Ioann and Nestor Dimitrievich. The 1835 revision of Cociulia lists an unmarried Dimitry Petrov Pleș, aged 28, who by 1850 had been “exiled to Siberia for theft” (S408, S409); whether this is the same man is unknown — the ages differ by ten years.
