Яков Евдокимович (отец Надежды)

probably a great-great-great-grandfather, father of Nadezhda Yakovlevna

Birth: BET 1820 AND 1837

A temporarily-obligated peasant of Count Bobrinsky's village of Chernyaevka; recorded as a peasant of that village already in January 1857. Children by his wife Ekaterina Gavrilova: Tatiana (1857), Aleksiy (1863), Nadezhda (1864) and Grigory (1867) — all baptised in Chernyaevka (S765, S763). The registers of the 1850s–1860s give no surname, but his son Grigory is a Melnikov in the registers of 1885–1912 (S764), so Yakov too was probably a Melnikov. If Nadezhda is the one who married Sergiy Melnikov in 1883, he is Igor's great-great-great-grandfather. His sister was Feodosia Evdokimova, wife of Ivan Mikhailov; she may be the Feodosia of 1843, daughter of Evdokim Ignatov of Ozerki in the same parish (S766). He has no household of his own in the 1858 revision of Chernyaevka (S763), although the family already lived in the village: look for him as a son-in-law or lodger in someone else's household and in the Ozerki list.
