A village with the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos. Here on 20 June 1992 Hieromonk Serafim baptised Igor and Vladimir Melnikov.
The Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos was built in 1830 to a design by the architect Shestakov, in the late Classical style, with money from the landowner Ryumin and the parishioners; later it was improved by the manufacturers Shchukin, Abramov and Alekseev. After the revolution the parishioners defended the church and it never closed; the priest Sergiy Vladychensky was arrested and shot, the deacon and psalm-reader died in the camps. In the 1930s the bells were thrown down, but services continued even during the war (description to the 1968 photo on PastVu).
