A military town where the children of Ivan Danilovich Degtyarevsky — Moisei, Natalia, Elena and Nikolai — were baptised in St Nicholas Cathedral in 1840–1844 (S516). Ivan Danilovich's daughter Lyubov was probably the wife of Prince Alexander Nikolaevich Kubekov and the mother of Vera Alexandrovna; this link is still dashed. A copy of Nikolai's birth certificate survives in his marriage file of 1880 (S514).
