A central city in the Chebanov and Zamyatin family histories. Pyotr Zamyatin lived here with his children Lyudmila, Olga, Veronika and Igor. Yuri Dmitrievich Chebanov left for the front from here in 1943. According to a family account, his parents, both doctors, died in the 1948 earthquake. Dmitry (1952) and Vadim (1958) Chebanov were born here. Even earlier, in 1911 and 1912, Sofia and Natalia Kubekova were born here — daughters of the military investigator Prince Nikolai Alexandrovich Kubekov, the brother of Vera Alexandrovna, grandmother of Lyudmila Petrovna.
